ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Objects which bare no power
Baudrillard appoints the body as “... the most beautiful, precious and resplendent of all objects”. If I say the world is the experience of the body, I put it in its heart and all things are fractions of that experience.
In this very brief entry I already put relevant questions to think about work in the field of artistic practice: attention to the body as mediator, its performativity, and the idea of fragmentation, i.e. the construction of thought from isolated moments, discontinued.
Jewellery, whose purpose I consider semi-functional, is an attention on the matter and form or on the material and shape, and that since the second half of the twentieth century, raised a greater attention to the encoding and conscious action on the body, or the body acting on the object, because both directions are reciprocal in building a system of languages . But before becoming an object with an almost functional purpose (or jewelry, or object to be seen in the mass of the human body) is a set of matter or materials, codes enhancers that activate other meanings and other languages.

About the artist:
B. in 1976 in Cinfães, Portugal. Lives and works in Porto, Portugal. Graduated from the Centro de Joalharia do Porto in Portugal, 1995-1998 (Jewellery Course) and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Monachium, Niemcy, 2001-2007 (Class of Prof. Otto Künzli). After studied photography at Instituto Português de Fotografia, Porto, Portugal. Currently studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Porto University, Portugal. Works in collections of the Gallery of Art in Legnica, Poland and Galerie Marzee in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
