Place: Legnica Culture Center, Chojnowska 2

Exhibition open till: 11th June 2017

The «Institut Jeanne Toussaint – Parure & Bijouterie» is one of the oldest jewellery schools in Brussels. Founded in 1894 by Brussels Chamber of Jewellery, the Institute became later an official public school belonging to the “Ville de Bruxelles”. Since 2012, the Institue was renamed after «Jeanne Toussaint», a Belgian artist who was the Art Director of the Maison Cartier from the 1930s till the 1950s. She was responsible for Cartier’s aesthetic and more notably for the animal series, like the well known Panther.

The «Institut Jeanne Toussaint – Parure & Bijouterie» is located in a historical Art Déco building alongside the Arts & Métiers Campus, in the center of Brussels.

The Institute offers a unique range of specialised training to its students. We propose a variety of trainings based on hand craft skills like jewellery and leather working, as well as vocational beauty skills. Our courses are designed for adults.

The Jewellery courses are the most complete courses of the Institute. We offer 6 different jewellery specialisations, each of them certified with aninternationally recognised diploma. We provide our students with the best skills to become professional jewellers as a result of our workshop teaching techniques and basic theory courses. Furthermore, we aim at sparking our students’ creativity thanks to our free experiments and open projects.

Our educators are trained experts in jewellery, guiding our students on a daily basis by offering their experience and know-how.

Moreover, our six jewellery specialisations are interconnected, providing a complete vocational training course to our students. These specialisations are : Basic Jewellery, Contemporary Jewellery, Stone Setting (facet), Casting, Enamel, Jewellery Design and CAD.

Although  most of the exhibited jewellery was made by graduatesof Basic Jewellery and Contemporary Jewellery, you will also find elements from our other specialisations like Enamel or Stone Setting incorporated into their works.
