The community centre 'Kopernik' invites you to the opening of the exhibition accompanying the Legnica Jewellery Festival SILVER 2024 on 24.05.2024 (Friday). The exhibition will present works by students from the Mediation of Art programme at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław realised in the "Word and Image" studio under the direction of PhD Katarzyna Gemborys and Dr Małgorzata Kaczmarska. The exhibition is an experience of artworks providing  multiple insights into the essence of empathy, the functioning of emotional exchange and mutual support in the contemporary context. The works presented on the exhibition have been made in various means of expression.

Natalia Jaskólska's sculpture is a reflection of her poem, showing the differences between the emotional state during the day and at night. It shows how fickle the way we think and feel is and can change in a short period of time. The project highlights our mind's capacity for subtle deception.

"Throws" by Michal Kowalczys is a video essay with a performative gesture inspired by graffiti culture in relation to the personal experience of the loss of a relationship in which collective writing of poetry was the essence of meetings. The videoressey shows the proces of scratching out the most personal text on the wall, dedicated to the previously mentioned relationship.

In video work 'Utopia of the letter', Radosław Jaszczyszak provokes the viewer to reflect on the utopian nature of everyday life. Through metaphorical references to traditional dishes, such as broth or tomato soup, he transforms culinary experiences into symbolic manifestations.

The artist's book by Maja Bernaczek presents utopian visions of reality instilled in children from the very beginning of their education about what surrounds us. In her work, the artist depicts a world that is not as colourful as presented in children's books. Based on a variety of experiences, the elementary book tells a story of disillusionment with a world that many people can identify with, because the sky is not always blue.

Alexander Zid's interactive installation aims to transform the sound of a letter through the realisation of an installation using a microphone, speaker and thick liquid.
