Mia Kwon: VIVID!

Mia Kwon is a Korean porcelain jewellery artist, based in Berlin. After receiving her B.F.A. in ceramic craft from Kookmin University in Seoul she came to Germany. Here she studied ceramic design at the Burg Giebichenstein University in Halle and finished her M.A. in design at the FH Potsdam. In 2013 she debuted as jewellery artist and has participated to numerous international exhibitions since then. Her jewellery is also on display globally at various galleries.

I want to change the way people see porcelain jewellery by creating beautiful and unusual fashion items. For this a very light look and feel is as important to me as a perfect and precise finishing. To help building a closer relation between my jewellery and the wearer, I aim to connect the unique elegance of porcelain with fresh colours, the dynamic characteristics of fabric and typical clothing shapes. Ultimately I want to blur the borders between these elements and concepts to create an uncommon, contemporary perspective onto porcelain jewellery and fashion.
